Laura Scrivano is a writer and director, whose work spans narrative film, documentary, music videos, commercials, live art and digital content. Her films have screened at festivals around the world including Cannes, Sundance, Budapest, Glasgow and BFI Flare, London.
Laura directed the viral hit THE LANGUAGE OF LOVE, showcased at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival in partnership with YouTube, and featured by The Ellen Degeneres Show, The Huffington Post, Stephen Fry, Buzzfeed and The Guardian. The film has been watched over a million times online in English, French, Spanish and Chinese, won multiple awards and screened at over forty film festivals worldwide.
Her recent work includes the dance film SHADOW/SELF (winner of the VAMFF Film series, official selection for Dancescreen UK, VOTD award); A LOVESONG featuring Daniel Henshall and ALICE featuring Sarah Snook for The Passion Films series; and the music video for CALL ME, the upcoming single off Imelda May’s new album. Laura also works regularly in commercials and has created content for the BBC, Impulse, Oxfam UK, Clinique, Tourism Australia, Shoes of Prey, Opera Australia, Bianca Spender, Vogue and Sydney Theatre Company.
Italian-Australian by birth, Laura is based in London and works worldwide. Some of her favourite things are David Lynch, Saga Noren, French New Wave, time travel, coffee and dancing. When not on set, you can often find her practising her amateur ice skating skills.
She is currently developing a number of long form projects, including her first feature.
